Carleton University, in collaboration with Arctic Bay Adventures, the Hamlet of Arctic Bay, Ikajutit Hunters and Trappers Association, SmartICE, the Canadian Ice Service, McMaster University, deployed and is maintaining a network of 3 Cryologger automatic weather stations to complement Inuit Knowledge for travel safety and environmental monitoring. These stations report weather information hourly and were placed at sites chosen by the Tuvaliriji (SmartICE Community Management Committee in Ikpiarjuk) at these locations (click on link for weather information):

Cryologger Automatic Weather Stations are open-source and custom-developed for Arctic conditions. They are low-cost, easy to maintain and flexible systems.
